Ingredients in Plexaderm
This is crucial especially in the era of consumers being keen on what they put on their skin. The main ingredients in Plexaderm include Sodium Silicate, and Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone crosspolymer. These are the main active ingredients and they are quite popular in the beauty industry.
Cyclomethicone has been used in beauty products since the 1980s as a product that makes it easy for product to spread easily on the skin. Being a non-comedogenic, this ingredient does not clog pores and so it is common in beauty products.
Sodium Silicate is an inorganic salt used in beauty products to control the pH of a final product. It is odorless and colorless, and so quite popular in the beauty industry.
Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone crosspolymer is a viscosity-increasing agent that gives a product excellent slip. Although there are no other known long-term benefits, it makes the product easy to spread.
Other ingredients present in this wrinkle remover include Water (Aqua), Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Cellulose Gum, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 40 (CI 16035), Phenoxyethanol, and Ethylhexylglycerin. While they are not exactly naturally-occurring (organic), they are also now known to have any adverse side effects.
Cost of the Product
The cost of Plexaderm is affected by company offers. During inception, it was listed at $133.17 but occasionally the company will offer a huge discount to reach more people. Presently, a 40% discount has reduced the cost of this product to just $79.90. The maker is perennially offering these huge discounts that prompt one to believe that the original list price is just a marketing gimmick.
To further sweeten the deal, the company offers a duo skincare kit with hyaluronic acid serum for an additional $20.07 to make the total cost a little under $100. The cost of this product is quite appealing to those with a budget for skincare products.
Does Plexaderm Work?
Several users have left reviews on the product after buying and using it, and the reviews are mixed. Some think the product is a waste of money as it never really worked for them while others swear by it for smoothing wrinkles under eyes.
The company provides photos – before and after use – and the models have sworn to have seen lasting results. However, users who post online have mixed thoughts. Some report irritation after using the product. When applied, a film forms and then dries almost immediately and so some say they feel a little irritation as the thin film dries. This could be explained by silicate compounds that are alkaline in nature and so could cause a little burning sensation that should only last a short while.
Some reviewers have also criticized the product’s packaging, saying that the syringe dispenser does not dispense all the product. The lever is said to stop too soon, leaving some product of the expensive cream in the tub.
The most common criticism is the film that the cream leaves on the skin. By design, the product works by creating a film on the skin that gives the illusion of the skin being tighter, but some have complained that this film is whitish and too visible. Washing it off reduces the cream’s effectiveness.
- Plexaderm is said to work almost immediately. The company says it works within 10 minutes of application.
- A little goes a long way.
- It leads to decrease in appearance of crow’s feet & wrinkles.
- Has no known side effects if a person stops using it.
- Too expensive even after the heavy discount.
- Ingredients are not known to have lasting effects.

The jury is still put on whether Plexaderm has lasting effects, or whether it is worth the cost. What remains true is that a little goes a long way, making it good value for money.
reduces my wrinkles A LOT
This stuff works well and I have now bought several of these. My complaint is that it always gets stuck in the container. I’ve had to break it open and about lots of it I can’t get and it can never be used. They need to change different kind of container but It absolutely reduces my wrinkles A LOT.
